It's a light chain (the 'coin' is not heavy) but it also does not look cheap. It's definitely a piece that doesn't need layering because it speaks on its own, but at the same time, looks great when layered if that's your thing. I'm pretty happy with it but just note, that if you are a voluptuous lady, it sits quite close to the base of the neck. Overall, GTB doesn't let me down.
